On March 13th, 2020, it was announced that the Premier League would postpone all of their matches due to the outbreak COVID-19. This is terrible news to European Football fans around the world but it is our safest option.
When the virus was making it's way around the UK, many professional players and even managers were effected by the virus including Chelsea's young star Callum Hudson-Odoi. Callum made sure to notify the public with a Twitter post explaining how he was recovering and making sure to stay isolated from everyone else. A few days later he had made an announcement stating that he had recovered and was back to his healthy self.
Chelsea FC have tried their best to help combat this virus by offering the Millennium Hotel at Stamford Bridge to be available for medics in north-west London. This is a fantastic gesture from the club because it shows that they are thinking about the big picture and how important it is to focus on this virus instead of football. With medics around London working tirelessly to find a way around this virus, it's great to see a football club provide hospitality towards those helping the society.
Chelsea FC Right Back, Reece James, has also helped tackle the virus by teaming up with four other Premier League players to help aid local communities. He created the #FootballUnited as a campaign startup for donations to those affected by COVID-19.
